Field-first · offline-first · built in NZ

Pre-starts and drill logs. Off paper, offline.

PowderFactor Field puts your crew's pre-starts, drill logs, rig maintenance and training records on a tablet that works with no signal on the bench, and gives the office a portal to review, export and manage access. Published pricing. No demo wall.

Offline-first Glove-friendly Daylight UI CSV export, always Your data stays yours
Launching with a Queensland drill and blast contractor. New Zealand next. Audit-ready records for QLD and NZ regulators
PowderFactor Field · launching now

Everything a small crew logs, in one app.

Field replaces the clipboard, the whiteboard and the spreadsheet of licence expiries. Crews capture on a tablet; the office reviews in the portal.

Pre-starts and daily logs

Digital pre-starts per rig and vehicle, signed with a personal PIN. Daily logs capture metres, holes and hours against the blast.

Drill logs from the pattern

Upload the surveyor's pattern CSV in the portal; every hole lands on the rig tablet. Drillers log depth, angle and dips per hole, offline.

Maintenance that knows the hours

250 / 500 / 1000-hour services worked out from engine hours, with nesting done right. Defects raised on the pre-start, closed in the service record.

Training, licences, sign-ins

Pass-outs and competencies per person, licence expiries flagged 30 days out, and a register of who signed in on which rig.

The office portal

Review every record, filter by person, rig, blast or date, and download exactly what is on screen as a CSV that opens cleanly in Excel. Add people, reset PINs, register assets and backfill service history.

Built for the bench

A Daylight theme for midday glare, 48px touch targets for gloves, and sync status you can read at a glance. Offline is a normal state, not an error.

Your records, your export

Every list exports to CSV with the record's own fields. Nothing is locked in a proprietary format, and no PIN or password material ever leaves the server.

Where Field is going

Your data compounds.

Field is the first of four products on one data layer. Drill logs will feed blast design, design will feed reconciliation, and history will sharpen the next blast. Field is live; the rest is the roadmap.

Why PowderFactor

Built for the small operator.

Published pricing

Prices on the page. You should never have to book a demo to find out what software costs.

Open by design

Every record exports to CSV with its own fields. Your data stays yours, and leaves cleanly if you do.

One data layer

Field is the foundation. Design, Mag and Quote plug into the same records as they ship, with no migration.

Built for the bench

Offline-first, glove-friendly, high-contrast in direct sun. Obvious beats minimal chic.

About

Two people, one quarry problem.

PowderFactor is a two-founder software company based in New Zealand. We started it because the drill and blast software worth having was priced for corporate mines, and everyone else was running a small operation on paper, a whiteboard and a spreadsheet of licence expiries.

We are building Field with a working drill and blast contractor in Queensland, on real benches, in real glare. If it does not survive a shift in a cab, it does not ship.

Questions from the bench.

Does it work offline on the bench?
Yes. Field is offline-first: pre-starts, daily logs and drill logs are captured with no signal and sync the moment the tablet is back in range. Sync state is always visible at a glance, and "offline, saved" is a normal state rather than an error.
How do we get started?
Request access with the form on the contact page. We set up your organisation, add your first admin and send them a portal invite, usually within a business day. Your admin then adds people and rigs from the portal; each person gets an emailed PIN for the tablet.
Which tablets and phones does it run on?
Field runs on iOS and Android. A rugged Android tablet in the cab is the setup we built for; supervisors can use a phone. The office portal is a website that works in any modern browser.
Can we get our data out?
Every list in the portal has a Download CSV button that exports exactly the rows on screen, with the record's own fields, in a file that opens cleanly in Excel. There is no lock-in and no export fee.
Do you cover New Zealand as well as Australia?
Yes. We are launching with a contractor in Queensland, and New Zealand is next. The app and portal support both AU and NZ organisations, and NZ pricing is at parity in NZ$.
What about compliance records for audits?
Field keeps timestamped, PIN-signed records of pre-starts, defects, services, training and sign-ins, all exportable for a regulator or an auditor. Records are stored for as long as your organisation keeps its account, and you can export them at any time.
Is there an API?
Not yet. CSV export covers reconciliation and payroll today, and an API is on the roadmap alongside PowderFactor Design. If you have a specific integration in mind, tell us on the contact form.
